| they have been bought by Fiat, than "the detroit tigers are a sucky baseball team". Things change, and since being pumped full of major-auto-manufacturer-moolah with all associated budgeting, by every account I have read from what I would consider reputable automotive journals, they have moved to modern engineering and manufacturing techniques and make a very solid and reliable car. What compiled evidence do you have that demonstrates otherwise? Consumer Reports listed the most problematic vehicles from last year and I don't recall seeing any italian cars on there at all, what I do recall seeing was a few MB's and the Nissan Titan. You can even tell just from the product line how much higher quality the cars are just in appearance alone since after the purchase in the 90's. The old mindset towards italian exotic engineering and crafsmanship and reliability no longer applies.
